January Outlawz Progressive Challenge

Here is a card I created using the digital image by Andrea of SheepSki Designs. This image was made especially for the use in this challenge. If this is something you think you would be interested in, become a member at http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com . There are challenges for everyone who is a paper crafter and they start and end depending upon the challenge. I encourage you to check it out.

Now, I have to say this image did challenge me. I think I lean toward big, open images that allow for a lot of room for blending. I was happy to be challenged, but I can't say this is the best coloring I've done and I almost didn't finish the card. I have a lot of unfinished card fronts and pieces. This challenge made that change for me with this image and I am glad I finished it.  The person I am sending it to is going to be happy to get a card from me. They are not going to scrutinize my coloring the way I do.

So, here's to finishing what you start!

Gerda Steiner October 2017 Challenge

I made this card with the October 2017 Gerda Steiner digital image. I purchased the image from gsd-stamps.com. You can find The image for the current month by clicking on the menu and selecting Monthly Challenge.  The first time you participate, you will have to pay for the image. Then, if you complete a project to enter the challenge, you receive the next image free of charge. It is a progressive challenge, so the process continues, as long as you participate in each monthly challenges.

I hope you enjoy my card and that I have inspired you to give the challenge a go!

Thank you for taking a look!  It was fun to see my blog is still here =)

I Can Post Images!

About two years ago I was in a blog hop and my images would not post. Try as I may on and off for the next few months, I could not get it to work. I finally stopped trying. Recently I read on another blog that the problem is the combination of Blogger and IE.  I don't really know if I was using IE when I tried to blog the last time, but I thought I would try Firefox and see if it makes a difference.  Apparently that was my problem all along!  I know Firefox and Chrome are preform much better than IE, but I think since I started out with IE, and have all the settings just how I want them, it is habit and comfort that keeps me going back!

Anyway, I have been taking a Copics for Cardmakers class from Online Card Classes.  Here are a couple of cards I I have made this weekend that I thought I would share.

Fiskateer Blog Hop

Welcome to the Third Annual Fiskateers ORANGE Blog Hop! If you're hopping along, you should have come from Beryl's Blog . (If you are joining us in the middle, go to www.fiskateers.com to start from the beginning.) Today we are celebrating Fiskars' signature color, ORANGE. Almost everyone is familiar with Fiskars' famous orange-handled scissors, but Fiskars makes so many other wonderful products for crafting, sewing, gardening, and more. Each stop along our Hop will feature different Fiskars' products with a big helping of ORANGE!

After several tries at showing the card I made on my original post, without any luck, I have made a new card, thinking it might be the pictures I was trying to post.  Since I have already given that card away, I made another card and you can see THE PICTURE POSTED HERE in my Fiskateers gallery, as some of the comments suggested on the first post.  I hesitated to do this, because this hop is open to everyone, not just Fiskateers.  However, since the majority of the hoppers are Fiskateers, I thought I would take the advice.

Fiskars Tools used:

Loves Me Loves Me Not Large Squeeze Punch
12" LED Sure Cut Rotary Trimmer
Deckle Blade for Rotary Trimmer
Leaves Border Punch LE Spring 2011

If you would like a chance to win some blog candy, leave a comment here and I will select a winner at the end of the hop to win a Fiskars Limited Edition "Sleigh Bells Ring" Squeeze Punch from 2010.

For more information about Fiskars and the Fiskateer program, you can go to http://www.fiskateers.com/join/. Now, hop along to see what fabulous crafty goodness that Fiskateer #5798, Judy, has to show you to show you on her blog.

Third Annual Fiskateer Orange Blog Hop

I have given up on this post and done what any good crafter would do, I started all over.  If you had this post marked to come back to, see the post above and you can see the new card I made, if you are a Fiskateer, by following the link to my gallery.

I am sorry to say I am going to have to come back and try again to load the picture of the project I made for this blog hop.  For some reason, when I tried to load my my pictures, Blogger kept giving me an "invalid response message"  and I tried until 11:30 p.m. Thursday night.  Please forgive me for this.  I will try to come back and fix it throughout the day.
I made for my friend's birthday.  I have used this design before for a Valentine's day card and I think it is one of my favorites.

What a Fiska-Fun Sping Hop We Had! We Have Winners!

First, my apologies for not getting this post up sooner, I know it is fun to go back right away after a blog hop and see if you are a winner.

Thank you to all of the Fiskateers who stopped by my blog during the Spring Fiskateer Blog Hop.  I am not a blogger who posts very often, but I do love playing along in a good blog hop and this one was a lot of fun!  I really had a great time hopping to all of the Fiskateer blogs over the weekend! So much inspiration.  If you think about it, we have a lot of this inspiration available to us each and every day right in the gallery as a Fiskateer.  So, if you are reading this and are not a Fiskateer, I hope you will go to www.fiskateer.com/join so you can be a part of this positive, upbeat crafting community full of some very talented crafters of all kinds.  If your favorite craft is sewing, knitting, gardening, scrapbooking, cross stitching, card making - you name it - we have Fiskateers who share your interests.

Now for the winner of the Fiskars #5 Non-Stick Scissors...from my 49 comments Random.org chose comment #14

I love the bags. I am glad you are recovering well and that you found some time to share these great bags. And I was lucky enough to attend a US of F party.

Teresa, I will be sending your scissors as soon as I get your address.

Since Teresa did mention in her comments that she attended a United States of Fiskateers event I also decided to pick a second winner from those who said they didn't attend a US of F crop or win a prize from one of the challenges on the on-line US of F party and mail that winner the Fiskars #8 Scissors.  Of the seven people who left comments saying they fit in that group, Random.org picked the comment #1

Fiskateer Spring Blog Hop

A Spring Gift Bag
Welcome to the Fiskateers Spring Blog Hop. You should have come from the blog of the super talented Lizzie, Fiskateer #5926.  If you happen to have just found the hop from my blog  and you are a Fiskateer, official starting point is at  www.fiskateers.com.

If you are one of my followers who is thinking a “Fiskawhat?”, you should know that Fiskateers (www.fiskateers.com) is an online community of craftiness (paper crafts, sewing, gardening, etc.) all based around our love and appreciation of Fiskars (think orange-handled scissors to start). There is a blog, gallery, and message board led by four lovely Lead Fiskateers who along with the other Fiskateers are fabulous at getting creativity flowing via chats, challenges, on-line crops, and interviews with other crafty celebrities. If you would like to join in the inspiration of Fiskateers, go to www.Fiskateers.com/join. Then, join in the fun at the beginning, www.kellystarsallthingscrafty.blogspot.com for a complete list of blog hop stops.
Now with all of the house keeping out of the way, we will move on to my project.  I have to admit this project is a "leftover".  When Kelly asked if I wanted to be a part of the hop I absolutely did, but knew I would be recovering from neck surgery and would not be able to have a project that was blog-hop-worthy ready in time ( I am doing better than expected at this point, by the way). I was going to just offer some fun Fiskars blog candy, but I was looking through some pictures and realized I had not shared this particular gift bag project on-line, and it seemed so appropriate since it is a spring project and I used so many of Fiskars great tools!   Some fellow Fiskateers will remember it from the party we had at the end of Tami's Whirlwind Tour of Arizona.

Supplies

Fiskars tools used in this project:
Spring Flower Border Punch (LE 2011)
Butterfly Border Punch (LE 2011)
The consumables used were a very coveted, and no longer available, Fiskars tape runner, brown paper lunch bag, piece of scrap plastic leftover from lamenating, tissue paper, orange and green cardstock, ribbon, and stickles.

Creating Your Gift Bag

Before you start, cut 3" off of the top of your bag and save for later.

Insert the bottom half of your Everywhere Punch inside of the paper bag and the top half on the side of the side of the bag without a seam and punch you hole in the middle of your bag.

Center your bag on the border punch of your choice, some patterns will look fine if they are not centered, but some will not look so nice.  A regular weight brown paper lunch bag should be light enough you can punch through all of the layers at once.

Finish Up With Punches or Other Embellishments

Now you can punch out shapes, stamp a design  or use other embellishments of your choice to decorate the bag.  For the window, I put a small amount of adhesive on each side of the piece of plastic and carefully inserted in the bag to stick behind the opening.
That small piece of paper you saved from the top of your bag can be cut, used as a gift card and tied to the bag.  I punched a hole in an upper corner (since the picture, I now have a Fiskars punch to do this with!) used a sentiment from one of my Simple Stick Stamp sets, and a small piece of coordinating ribbon.

Two Different Looks

For My Giveaway

Simply leave a comment and I will share with a random winner, a pair of Fiskars Non-Stick #5 Detail Scissors  and, only if you are a Fiskateer, were not able to attend a US of F gathering or were not an on-line US of F winner, I will also add in a pair of #8 Designer Scissors with the Floral pattern.  I am sure there will be a few other goodies in the bag as well!

Next Blog to Hop To

Please note, before you go to see what crafty goodness Emily, Fiskateer #7021 has for you to see, she wanted me to post a message that her website is very secure because it is owner maintained, you can read the certificate, simply click continue and then it will allow to head on over to her post.

Orange Blog Hop Winner!! Plus One!

First I want to thank everyone who stopped by my blog and left such nice comments over the weekend during the Second Annual Orange Blog Hop!  I really hope Debby keeps this tradition going and I can continue to be a part of it each year.

All of the Fiskateers did such an amazing job blogging and hopping along leaving Fisk-a-luv!  It was great seeing so many different ideas from so many talented Fiskateers!  I know there are ideas from the hop that will come in handy when I least expect it!  That is what I love about looking at blogs - even if you don't have something in mind for the new idea you see, eventually you will!

Now, you didn't really come back to read my ramblings!  I used Random.org to select my winner, but I still need to learn how to make a screen copy of the results like some of the more professional bloggers I see! Until then, you will just have trust me!  I put in the numbers 1 - 74 and the winner is #22

Since Cordelia didn't mention the scissors pin, I picked another winner to receive it. The winner of the pin is #61:
